Attorney Profile - Andrew P. Cipes

The focus of Andrew Cipes' law practice is business entities, affordable housing finance and general real estate and business transactions. He is a founding shareholder of Aikenhead, Cipes & Supanich. Mr. Cipes' clients include real estate developers, manufacturers, distributors and technology companies, as well as service businesses. He acts as outside general counsel for many of his clients, addressing typical business law issues, such as corporate governance, leases, mergers and acquisitions, technology and intellectual property licensing and employment matters. Mr. Cipes also advises his closely held business clients about shareholders agreements for corporations and operating agreements for limited liability companies.

Mr. Cipes has spoken at seminars hosted by the financial industry and The Executive Committee (TEC) on the subjects of estate planning and succession planning and business valuation for the owners of closely held businesses.

Mr. Cipes is a member of the California Bar Association (Business Law and Real Property Law Sections) and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (Real Property and Taxation Sections). He is admitted to practice before all California State Courts and the United States District Court (Southern and Central Districts), the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Tax Court. Mr. Cipes is a member of the Continuing Education of the Bar Joint Advisory Committee, Real Estate Subsection.

Mr. Cipes was born in Mt. Vernon, New York, on February 16, 1950 and educated at Northwestern University and UCLA, from which he received B.A. in English. He received his legal education at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles.
